How To Remove A Schuco Concealed Gearbox & Window Handle

The handle and rosette must be removed before the gearbox can be removed.

How to remove schuco handle

Removal:

Turn the handle to the horizontal position (90° from the closed position).

Insert a small allen key or drill bit into the hole in the face of the gearbox to release the handle. (You may have to manually move the locking mechanism to align the hole through the face of the gearbox.)

Once the handle is removed, unscrew the rosette (small hex or torx head screws, depending on the age of the rosette) from the inside face of the window.

Twist the gearbox out of the window section, you may need to gently lever it out with a flat screwdriver.

Fitting:

Twist the gearbox into the window section, ensuring it connects into the locking bars.

When aligned reconnect the handle rosette to the inside face of the window to secure the gearbox into position.

Push the handle (in the horizontal position) back through the rosette until it engages into the gearbox.
